Synply, the AI-powered loan syndication platform for commercial banks, today announced the appointment of Morgan Lyons to its Advisory Board. A respected financial services leader with more than 25 years of experience across capital markets, loan syndications, and strategic corporate banking, Lyons brings an active, in-the-seat perspective to Synply's mission of modernizing the loan syndication process for community and regional banks.

Lyons currently serves as Managing Director and Head of C&I Syndications at Pinnacle Financial Partners, where he oversees the combined commercial and industrial syndications business for the $123 billion Southeastern-based regional institution, following its recent merger with Synovus Financial Corp. Prior to his role at Pinnacle, Lyons established the Capital Markets Group at First Midwest Bank and held senior business development roles at Northern Trust, building and scaling high-performing financial practices throughout his career.

Shaping the future of loan syndication technology

"Morgan is the kind of advisor every founder hopes to find," said Corbin Penland, CEO and Co-Founder of Synply. "He is actively building and running a syndicated loan desk at one of the most significant regional banks in the country, while bringing 25 years of capital markets experience across multiple institutions. He has lived the workflows we're modernizing, and his perspective, both as a practitioner and as a leader within the community, will help ensure that Synply is solving the right problems for the right banks. We are honored to have him on our Advisory Board."

In his advisory role, Lyons will draw on his deep operating experience to help guide Synply's product strategy and platform development. His perspective will be instrumental in shaping the capabilities of Allo, Synply's AI-powered assistant, and ensuring the platform reflects real-world workflows, pain points, and needs of commercial banking professionals across the community and regional banking landscape.

"What sets Synply apart is that the team isn't trying to apply generic AI to our industry. They bring deep business and engineering expertise, and are building purpose-built tools that address real gaps in our process. Between delivering much-needed industry intelligence, to credit agreement extraction tools, to critical automation, I'm confident this team will have a lasting impact on how our industry manages syndicated loans," Lyons added.

An engaged industry and community leader

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Lyons is an engaged member of the business and civic community. He serves on the Drake University President's Circle, is an active member of the Mid-Sized Bank Coalition of America (MBCA), and participates in the Rotary Club of Nashville and the Tennessee Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).

Lyons holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSBA from Drake University, where he was a member of the varsity football team. He resides in the Nashville area and is a proud father of three.
